How the world really works
The Matrix.
It is probably fair to say that most people still believe we live in an ordered society, where governments and institutions are run lawfully with the aim of looking after our interests. People believe our governments keeps us safe and international organisations fulfil the same role on a global scale. We pay our taxes and our bills, as we believe this is the fairest way of running things and that it represents the price to allow us to live in a free and fair democracy. We may not always agree with everything that governments do on our behalf, but we trust that this system is the best solution and offers some accountability. On a broader scale, we have not really questioned the motives of NGOs such as UNICEF and The Red Cross, nor have we ever considered that global philanthropy and international charities such as Oxfam were anything other than benign influences.
Alice in Wonderland.
What happened at the end of 2019 and the start of 2020 was, for many people, the first sign that the world did not operate as we understood. The clues, which were always there if you cared to look, became more frequent and obvious. The fact that you are here, reading this, means that you already know, or strongly suspect that what we have taken for granted was, in reality, very different. Not only that, it has been this way for centuries. Our grip on reality has been loosened and we have to come to terms with the "New World Order" that our politicians have been talking about for decades. We have been deliberately distracted and are now discovering that many of the tools we need to navigate this new world have been hidden from us. Our education did not include any of the basic skills needed to understand how the world works and to allow us to play our part in it. The legal and financial systems are two key subjects that are entirely neglected by the educational establishment.
Globalism
Perhaps we will look back on the Globalist movement as the biggest con-trick in history. We have been told, by the media and our politicians that Nationalism (supposedly the opposite of Globalism) has held the world back and is standing in the way of progress. They tell us we must look beyond our national governments for solutions to the global "emergencies" we face. The health emergency and the climate emergency are the two that have occupied the media's attention recently, but the "war on terror" and the threat of WW3 are also used to justify increasing taxation, loss of freedoms, and to maintain the illusion that only global organisations have answers to these threats.
